Description:
Resident Evil 2: Platinum for Windows 95/98/ME/XP/7 includes the original U.S. and Japanese versions, which take advantage of 3D accelerated cards. Plus, you get extra bonuses such as the Extreme Battle Mode where you select one of four characters to play (each with his or her own special abilities and weapons) in a race to the police station while battling armies of zombies. In the mid-western town of Raccoon City, a sudden epidemic spread throughout the city when an "accident" occurred at the mansion lab located on the forested mountain. The Umbrella Corporation developed the T-Virus for its biological weapons use but their experiments lead to the creation of decaying zombies and creatures that killed for blood. The case was supposedly closed but a new virus was introduced and it's up to rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield's sister Claire to wipe the slate clean and free the city from rotting flesh.

Description:
Jill Valentine is back and she's still running for her life from the nasty, evil, flesh-munching zombies of Raccoon City. This episode finds Jill just after she has resigned from S.T.A.R.S. Now she must try to escape from the small town, but she finds more mutants and zombies threatening at every turn. To make matters worse, much worse, there is a special zombie mutant on the loose who is bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter than any of the foul creatures that Jill has ever had to face in the past. He is called Nemesis and he wants nothing more than to hunt Jill down and eat her for lunch.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis features many of the same controls and character abilities as were used in the first two Resident Evil titles. There is a new spin move available to Jill that allows an improved defense and counter attack. Improvements have also been made to the graphics and background environments. Jill even has a new outfit to wear as she fights for her survival. A new role-playing factor has been introduced in this release as well. At certain points in the game, players are required to make storyline decisions that will effect how the plot develops as the game progresses.

Extra Credits:
The premise of Resident Evil originated from the Alone in the Dark series with elements from George Romero's Night of the Living Dead and an Italian zombie flick titled Zombie. Although the core basis may have been within the aforementioned game series, Resident Evil has always focused on better graphics, gameplay and a higher spook factor. The protagonist in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis debuted in the original survival horror game in this acclaimed series.

Building upon the foundation of Resident Evil and its sequel, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis features a never before seen Mercenaries gameplay option, critical choices concerning the lumbering Nemesis that effect the outcome, and the ability to combine ammunition.
